Kristina Tesch, PhD candidate at the Signal Processing group, has been awarded the "Fakultätentag Informaik award" for the best master thesis at a German Informatics department in 2019.
Her MSc thesis is about mutli-channel speech inprovement and analyses the possible gain when replacing standard linear spatial beamforming with post-processing by a joint non-linear spatial-spectral filtering. Parts of the thesis were published in a recent Interspeech 2019 paper, On nonlinear spatial filtering in mutichannel speech enhancement with co-authors Robert Rehr and Timo Gerkmann.
