PhD Defense: Computer-aided Psychometrics with Natural Language Processing

Abstract: The interdisciplinarity between natural language processing and textual psychological diagnostics could foster replicability, evaluation objectivity, and shed light onto psychological decision-making. The psychology-language-discrepancy is difficult to capture. Three psychometrics were modeled: implicit motives, self-regulatory levels, and Jungian types. Our work on NLPsych has resulted in state-of-the-art models, published labeled data, ethical discussions, and insightful validation studies.
